The Berkeley School Parents Association
Building Community — Volunteering — Parent Education
These three items comprise the goals of the TBS Parents Association: to build a community around our children, to foster and support a culture of volunteerism, and to support parents in their roles as child-rearing experts.
TBSPA Needs You
The TBS Parents Association cannot achieve any of its goals without your help, so get involved in your child’s education by volunteering your time. We encourage families to give a minimum of 20 hours per year (just 2.5 hours per month).
Open positions include:
- TBSPA Events Coordinator
- Logo Items Committee Members
- Scrip Committe Members
Contact TBSPA Volunteer Coordinator, to find out more about these and many other ways to get involved: volunteer@theberkeleyschool.org.
TBSPA Supports Our Teachers
Last year, the Parents Association took responsibility for raising substantial funds to support our teachers’ professional development through the second annual Honoring Our Teachers Auction, held in March, 2009. This festive event netted tens of thousands of dollars for our terrific teachers’ continuing professional education, and was a fabulous community-building experience as well! This year’s auction, to be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the historic Craneway Pavilion on the waterfront in Richmond, is sure to be another great success! Stay tuned for more information, or email auction@theberkeleyschool.org.
