Dear ECC Families - 

You are invited to the ECC Fall Garden Work Day! We will spend the morning getting our gardens ready for the coming rainy season.

• WHO - ECC Parenting Adults and their kids (siblings welcome too).
• WHAT: A morning of community gardening: Planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, watering...
• WHERE: The ECC Outdoor Classroom (and Certified Wildlife Habitat)
• WHEN: Saturday, November 2nd, 10:00am - 12:00pm
• WHAT CAN I BRING?: 
  • Garden Tools (gloves, shovel, spade, pruners...)
  • extra plants, bulbs, seedlings, or perennials that you want to divide and share. Bonus points for native plants and nectar sources for our resident wildlife.
  • A snack to share potluck style - I will make sure there is coffee and water.

I am really excited to give our garden some love, and it will be fun to tackle it together. Please RSVP(via Rebecca's Parent Square Post) so I know how many to expect.

• UAC students will enjoy a Dia de los Muertos procession and dance performance on Monday, November 4 from 8:45-9:15. Coffee and pan de muerto will be served in the front courtyard starting at 8:15am. Parenting adults are welcome to join us!

explore the campus before joining classrooms to observe our child-centered teaching in

I hope you'll join me at next Thursday's annual “State of the School” event from 5:30-7:30 at the University Avenue Campus. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:15, followed by the State of the School presentation –  a chance for TBS families to learn more about the people, plans and actions that form our school’s present and shape its future. Childcare is available for all enrolled TBS students and their siblings – please RSVP here to let us know you’re coming. Hello Parenting adults!

Other important information:

• The best plan for drop off is to pull up on Avis Drive heading north just before Moeser and let your student out there. The big steps heading up to the school will be open and balloons or other decorations will mark the way. Please do not enter the parking lot. 
• Students should be prepared to sign in with their school's chaperones and pay the $5.00 admission fee and pass in their permission slips.....found here
• Each school should decide if they want to keep track of their students in a particular way. I recommend that you have a list of your student contact info readily available.
• Only 7th grade students from invited schools are allowed to attend. 
• Once students enter, they cannot leave until they are either picked up early or at the end of the dance. No going in and out.
• The dance will take place in our school's multipurpose room and there will also be some outdoor adjoining areas as well as an indoor classroom that will have quieter games and activities. 
• There will be some light snacks and beverages but it's best to eat dinner before the dance.

• Dismissal - chaperones will walk with their students to the sidewalk (Avis Drive) and wait with them until everyone is picked up. We will designate different areas for different schools along Avis and will need to keep the traffic flowing as it will get quite crowded. Chaperones should have flashlights and a sign that clearly states their school's name would also be helpful.

• Students are expected to follow the direction of all adults - no rough play or dancing, no inappropriate language, no harming anyone physically or emotionally. Students must remain in designated areas. Students are permitted to have their cell phones and can take photos of friends on the red carpet but there should be absolutely no photos or videos on the dance floor and no photos without the consent of anyone being photographed. Failure to follow these rules may result in a student being asked to sit out for a period of time or parents being called and being asked to leave the dance.
• The theme is "Hollywood" but students are not required to dress in the theme - totally optional. Our dress code is fairly lenient - you can follow your school's code as you see fit. 
• If you would like to create a google form for your students to make song requests, feel free to send me the list of songs and I will pass them along to our DJ.

Are you a parenting adult of a neurodivergent student? Are you interested in connecting with other parenting adults? Consider joining the TBS Neurodiverse Families Affinity Group! This group is open to all UAC and ECC parenting adults (neurodivergent or not) that are parenting a neurodivergent student.
